The DUALTO energy system is the generator that drives both the HARMONIC and ENSEAL handpiece families from a single unit, so a theatre needs it before either handpiece can be quoted. HARMONIC 1100 shears use ultrasonic energy to divide and seal tissue with vibration instead of electrical current, and are used for laparoscopic dissection and vessel sealing. The ENSEAL X1 large jaw tissue sealer is an advanced bipolar instrument for open surgery that grasps, seals and then cuts vessels and tissue bundles, with separate seal and cut controls and a rotating shaft; its applications include colectomy, hysterectomy, adhesiolysis and ovarian procedures.
