Mobile X-ray and C-arms

This group has two kinds of equipment. The first is the mobile X-ray unit that goes to patients who cannot come to the department. The Konica Minolta AeroDR TX m01, for which ViSurg is an authorised distributor, is a compact unit for ICUs, wards and theatres; its wireless detector charges when docked, and it captures dynamic chest sequences as well as bedside chest images. The Fujifilm FDR Go iQ, supplied on request, is a motorised unit with a compact retractable column, a collision-sensing bumper, camera-assisted positioning guidance and a touchscreen console at the tube head.

The second is the surgical C-arm. The Fujifilm Persona CS pairs a flat-panel detector for radiography and fluoroscopy with an articulating touch console and laser positioning aids, and positions in confined theatres for intra-operative imaging and procedure room fluoroscopy.

Mobile units are bought mainly by anaesthesia and critical care and by radiology and imaging; the C-arm serves orthopaedics and trauma theatres and radiology procedure rooms.
