CR readers and acquisition software

Not every department is ready to move to flat-panel detectors, and not every site needs a full PACS. This group covers the two Konica Minolta products that let a smaller hospital or a single department go filmless, and ViSurg is an authorised distributor for both.

The REGIUS Sigma II is a cassette-based CR reader on a desktop footprint. It digitises CR plates for general radiography in facilities that still run cassette workflows, and is the entry point to Konica Minolta’s digital imaging range. ImagePilot is a single software package that combines exposure control, acquisition, viewing and archiving: it processes images automatically without selecting the body part, stores and displays them, and connects to DICOM devices across departments, so a small site can go filmless without a separate PACS. Reporting, printing and analysis add-ons are optional.

Radiology and imaging departments are the main users, and the REGIUS Sigma II also suits emergency medicine, where an emergency room may keep its cassette workflow.
