Overview

Mako SmartRobotics is a robotic-arm assisted surgery system from Stryker for joint replacement. It builds a three-dimensional plan from the patient’s CT scan and uses AccuStop haptic technology to keep the cutting instrument within the planned boundaries while the surgeon executes it. Applications listed here are total knee and total hip arthroplasty; other Mako applications are confirmed with the manufacturer.

Mako 4 is integrated with the Q Guidance System, which serves as the hub for SmartRobotics applications. It includes an FP8000 camera with a wide field of view, a small operating room footprint, and a MICS 3 handpiece used in knee and hip procedures.

Features

  • CT-based pre-operative planning
  • Haptic boundary control during cutting
  • Compact theatre footprint
