Overview

The Ultraflux AV filters are haemofilters for continuous kidney replacement therapy (CKRT) in intensive care. They contain a polysulfone membrane developed for CKRT, which removes smaller molecules such as uraemic toxins and creatinine while retaining albumin, larger molecules and blood cells. They are steam sterilised, are appropriate for Ci-Ca and heparin anticoagulation, and have a duration of use of up to 72 hours.

The Ultraflux AV range has three surface areas: Ultraflux AV 400 S (0.7 m²), Ultraflux AV 600 S (1.4 m²) and Ultraflux AV 1000 S (1.8 m²). The high-permeability Ultraflux EMiC 2 is mainly used in Ci-Ca CVVHD treatments, where it is designed to remove middle molecules such as myoglobin or interleukin-6 while retaining albumin. These filters are used for CKRT in intensive care units.
