Overview

SURGIFLO Hemostatic Matrix Kit is a flowable matrix made from absorbable gelatin sponge, USP, mixed with sterile saline or thrombin solution before use. It is indicated in surgical procedures, other than ophthalmic ones, as an adjunct to haemostasis when control of bleeding by ligature or other conventional methods is ineffective or impractical. The applicator allows placement in tight and difficult-to-access sites.

When used in appropriate amounts, the matrix is absorbed completely within 4 to 6 weeks. The kit with thrombin is identified as SF2995. The kit is not used in intravascular compartments, in patients with known allergies to porcine gelatin, or in the closure of skin incisions. The applicator has a blue flexible tip and a white straight tip. Product codes include 2991, 2994 and MS1995.
