Overview
Coated VICRYL Plus Antibacterial (Polyglactin 910) Suture is a synthetic, absorbable, braided suture composed of polyglactin 910 and coated with triclosan, an antibacterial agent. It provides the same handling and performance as traditional Coated VICRYL (polyglactin 910) sutures. The triclosan coating is designed to help prevent biofilm formation and inhibit bacterial colonisation on the suture surface.
The suture is used for closing various tissue layers, including the peritoneum, fascia and skin. It is absorbed by hydrolysis and fully absorbed within approximately 56 to 70 days. It comes in a range of sizes and needle configurations; product codes include D7650, D8606 and TJ208G.
